The sex industry and … Inverness?
By: Ian Rose | January 15th, 2008There has been talk for a week or so that my beloved Inverness Caley Thistle was being approached by two new investors, one English and one Scottish, willing to put large amounts of money into the squad. This was exciting news to me. Now, a few more details. One of the interested parties is apparently Neil McGregor, owner of Adult Entertainment Services, a supplier of escorts and exotic dancers. Should go over well in Inverness.
McGregor is a lifelong Rangers fan (strike two) who wants a full takeover of the team, something that Alan Savage and David Sutherland have already said they would not allow. McGregor describes Caley’s current ownership as “grippy”, saying they should step aside if they don’t want to take the club forward themselves. He has apparently already made a failed attempt at buying Elgin City, and was brushed aside by them for not only his connection to the … ahem .. adult entertainment industry, but also questions about whether he would back up his promises of new training facilities, etc.
Personally, as a die-hard Caley fan, I’d love to see more investment in the club, but it is very much a family club. Inverness is a pretty quiet family town. As much as some additional funds would help, I’m not sure we need an outsider, with no real connection to the club, coming in and taking over. A Rangers fan at that. I am in full support of Sutherland and Savage in keeping majority control, and if this particular investor wants control to go with his money, I would be in favor of sending him on his way.

I think it’s rather appropriate that a Hun in the adult entertainment industry is interested in buying Caley. At least he has experience in dealing with cunts.

I’m shocked this is the first comment I’ve gotten from a County fan. Top class, by the way. I usually try to keep the comments clean on here, but I’ll leave yours for the sake of educating the readers. Most outside Scotland won’t have heard of Ross County, and it’s always good to widen their horizons. Unlike most Caley fans, I hope your side actually holds on and manages promotion - one step closer to settling the auld grudge on the pitch, where it belongs.
