A Celt’s a Celt for a’ that, Burns included

By: Craig | January 18th, 2007

burns2.jpgYou increasingly get the impression that Alex McLeish will have to say/have said something really, really bad in his interview with the SFA to stop him getting the Scotland job. Micky Adams quit Coventry City yesterday and the bookies immmediately tipped a former favourite for the job: Gary McAllister. He did a decent job there a few years ago before his wife’s illness forced his hand. He’s desperate to get back into management and the words ‘unfinished business’ are surely flashing through his mind now.

A definite turn-down has come today in the shape of Tommy Burns. As predicted right here on Tuesday, Burns’ attachment to his football club has, like Walter Smith, proved too much. There’s no chance David Taylor and the Blazers (good band name, that) would have contemplated a job-share.

Meaning that, if things fall into place in Midlands, the term ’shortlist’ never has never seemed more apt. Should Jim Jefferies just quit now?
