Good weekend/Bad weekend

Stephen Kenny - As predicted, Rangers dominate the headlines. As not predicted, Dunfermline supplied the ink. So this is what winning feels like.

Paul Mathers - Arguably the story of the weekend. As manager, he took Peterhead to last season’s playoffs only to be sacked a few months later. Making his professional debut between the sticks for Morton, Killie just couldn’t get the better of him. Craig Brewster, take note.

Stephen Pearson - You’ve got more chance of seeing Ally McCoist in green and white than this man, but it could be friends reunited at Derby County with Celtic accepting Billy Davies’ bid for their benchwarmer in chief. Norwich and Preston are in there too.

Bad weekend for…

The Tartan Army - As every minute goes by, it’s more a case of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ the national team loses its best manager in years. As the new Rangers manager, he won’t have to worry too much about bumping into his former employers at Hampden.

Elgin City - A Lazarus-esque second-half comeback was not enough to prevent yet more humiliation - this time at the hands of non-leaguers Deveronvale, whose reward is a home tie against the Glasgow giants…of Partick Thistle.
