Le guillotine falls for unlucky 13
By: Craig | January 4th, 2007
Well, something had to give but not many will have seen this coming. While all eyes were on the next steps of his former captain, it seems the Frenchman was doing a bit of negotiating himself. Namely, the severance of his contract. To have been given less than a season at a club where only 12 managers had preceded him is not the kind of record he will have been hoping to set when he first took the reins from Alex McLeish. And to depart so soon under David Murray, a loyal chairman who went to such great lengths to lure him to Ibrox, is extraordinary. Hmmm, looks like those knighthoods come with a sizable portion of ruthlessness attached…

I can’t believe it’s all over. I have to say I was quite enjoying the drama. Tears, anger, bitterness, revenge, winjing, cliffhanger suspense, great storline…maybe Le Guen should get in touch with River City for his next post. Just think of it.
