These days, you know that the transfer window’s around the corner whenever you see Hibs players on the back pages. Easter Road has produced more talented youngsters than Mr and Mrs Osmond in the last few years, with Garry O’Connor and Derek Riordan sold respectively to Lokomotiv Moscow and Celtic in the last two swap periods.

Now, despite warnings that Mr Murray wouldn’t be giving Paul Le Guen any pocket money in January after wasting it in the summer, it seems Ronjers could be in the hunt for Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson. Just the trick for a squad lacking in SPL experience?

At the same time, Chris Burke is doing a Maloney and postponing future contract talks till January, when, of course, rival clubs will be in the hunt for a talented Scottish winger. He is injury-prone, however, and if the news today is at all linked, then maybe PLG is toying with losing Burke and attaining two exciting Hibees with the proceeds.
