Raith Rovers Roll … League Cup first round results

The 2007-08 CIS Insurance Cup, the league cup of Scotland, began today with ten matches. Raith Rovers, of the Second Division, achieved an early away upset over First Division Clyde, 3-0. Today’s other matches are listed below. Last year’s top First Division sides and all of the SPL are still to enter the competition, which Hibernian won last season to claim their first hardware in fifteen years. It remains to be seen if any of the lower division sides can break the SPL lock on the cup this year, like Raith Rovers did in 1995 when they beat Celtic on penalties. Time will tell.
