Rangers advance on Beasley goal (Video)

By: Ian Rose | August 7th, 2007

Rangers have advanced through their first Champions League tie of the season. They went into their second leg at Montenegrin champions Zeta with a 2-0 advantage from the Ibrox leg, and needed only a goal to lock up the round and move on. For much of the match, Walter Smith’s boys seemed content with the scoreless draw, having a few looks at goal, but mostly concentrating on shutting down the Zeta attack. In the 81st minute, new American signing DeMarcus Beasley took Barry Ferguson’s pass to the top of the box and booted in a lovely low shot to end Zeta’s hopes and move Rangers on. Here’s the goal. Congrats to ‘Run DMB’ for his first competitive goal in a Rangers kit. What a way to get started.
