Scotland 3-1 Lithuania
By: Ian Rose | September 8th, 2007After a scary period created by a rubbish penalty call, Scotland took care of the job at hand today, finishing Lithuania 3-1 at Hampden. Three good goals from Kris Boyd, Steven McManus and James McFadden were enough to take the vital three points. Goal of the game for me had to be McManus’ knee-punt, though all three were pretty. Scotland now moves (probably temporarily) to second place in Group B. Scotland’s hopes now fall to the other matches. If France can beat Italy, that will keep Scotland second, and put the Scots in a great position going into the match in France on Tuesday. Likewise, if Georgia can equalize with Ukraine, it would certainly help. For now, we’ve done what we could do, despite the poor penalty call, and will go to France with the confidence of a win.
