Scotland is FIFA’s #14
By: Ian Rose | September 19th, 2007After our brilliant return to Euro 2008 qualifying, with wins over Lithuania and France, Scotland has risen to its highest position ever in the FIFA World Rankings, #14. We rose 9 places this month, overtaking the United States, Ukraine, Poland, Sweden, and other strong national teams. Our previous high ranking was #16 in March of this year, and at this point last year, we were sitting at #34. It really has been an amazing run for the Scots, especially the two wins over France. Let’s hope we can stay high in the ranks as we face another huge task ahead - a match against new world #1 Italy that is, surprisingly enough, a must-win for Italy. If we can hold onto even a point at home against the Azzuri, Scotland has an excellent chance of qualifying for Euro 2008, and either France or Italy will be shocked to find themselves watching the games on the box at home.

I’m not commenting on Scottish Euro scene, but I did want to give you a link to a video. Nothing to do with football/soccer. Instead, it’s on men’s tight jeans and contains a vegetable metaphor that made me think of you.

And by that I mean…um…yeah. How ’bout those mashed potatoes?
