It's obvious (as I've reported over on my site) that Gretna has (and had) no future as a league side - no stadium, no crowds and no long term financial plan based on more than 2 sources of income. I wonder though at sides like Annan Athletic, one of the teams hoping to take Gretna's place in the Third. Annan lies not far from Dumfries (home of Queen of the South) and are obviously a small club. I'm not sure what their attendance figures are like (their site doesn't state them), but should we be concerned that they (and for that matter the other contenders hoping to get into the league)can support themselves in the way that Gretna couldn't?
