Scots to get chance in Glasgow shocker!
By: Craig | October 27th, 2006
Some depressingly familiar noises for Celtic fans are emanating from the boardroom these days, with chairman Brian Quinn admitting the league-leaders won’t pay over the odds to keep Shaun Maloney in the Hoops.
Meanwhile, across Glasgow, Rangers are demonstrating renewed commitment to a Scottish core at the club, with Paul Le Guen announcing an impending contract for Steven Smith and focusing his efforts on keeping Chris Burke.
But Rangers fans will be particularly pleased with Allan McGregor’s new deal which keeps the keeper at Ibrox until 2009. With the error-prone Lionel Letizi just about edging duties between the sticks right now, you get the feeling that the solid McGregor is just a couple more blunders away from a run.
