Scottish clubs braced for number one hits

Jens Lehmann is one of those characters we all love in football: big, aggressive and stark raving bonkers. The fact that he’s a German only adds to the enigma. That said, he’s not prepared to be made a fool of. Arsene Wenger is adamant that, like all thirty-somethings at Arsenal, the stopper must sign rolling one-year contracts to stay at the Emirates. It’s a policy that saw the exit of Robert Pires last season and Sevilla are reportedly all set to swoop for one of football’s pushier characters.
The knock-on effect could be an interesting one for two sides north of the border. Wenger is rumoured to have an eye on both Craig Gordon of Hearts and Artur Boruc of Celtic. Of course, the way things are going, Gordon might not even be given the choice to leave Hearts by the summer, so availability shouldn’t be too much of a problem there. However, today Boruc’s agent had to confirm that the Pole would be between the sticks against Milan, as well as his client’s continued interest in a move south.

One word if Boruc leaves: disaster!
Okay, maybe that’s going a little too far. However, there is no doubt that Celtic need the big man between the pipes.
And the 5 million pound asking price is too low…way too low.
