By: j | September 23rd, 2008The Scottish League Cup, commonly known as the “Co-operative Insurance Cup” returns with the third round today with the following matches:
Tuesday
Dunfermline Athletic vs St Mirren (East End Park)
Falkirk vs Queen of the South (Falkirk Stadium)
Morton vs Inverness Caledonian Thistle (Cappielow Park)
Dundee United vs Airdrie United (Tannadice Park)
Airdrie sent Hearts out of the last round and will be looking to do the same to Dundee United who will be without Warren Feeney, Roy O’Donovan and Willo Flood will face a match fitness test.
Celtic vs Livingston (Celtic Park)
If you’re not a fan of Livingston already you might be after the match. Manager, Roberto Landi promises an attacking mood at Celtic Park.
“The problems are all for Celtic. If we lose it is not a problem as it is what is expected. The pressure is on Celtic. If we go to Celtic Park sitting on top of the table then they will respect us and we are capable of getting a shock.
“The best defence is to attack. We will take the game to Celtic in the same style as always. We play football and if you are much better then you win.
We will show them maximum respect. We will not go to Celtic Park to play with 10 forwards. We will play our style 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.”
Wednesday
Kilmarnock vs Aberdeen (Rugby Park)
Motherwell vs Hamilton Academical (Fir Park Stadium)
Partick Thistle vs Rangers (Firhill Stadium)
