SPL Words of the Week: Caley Thistle fans
By: Ian Rose | September 18th, 2007No brilliant quips from SPL managers this week. Well, there might be, but I haven’t read them. Instead, I look to my fellow sad Inverness Caley Thistle supporters, those brave enough to venture down to Glasgow on Saturday only to watch a 5-0 drumming by Celtic and a sixth straight loss to open the season. However, in the true spirit of why I love this club and its fans so much, here’s what they were chanting after the fifth Celtic goal:
“We’re gonna win 6-5″
Hope springs eternal in the highlands. Even if it’s false hope, it’s still brilliant.

A rousing edition of “We always win 6-5″ might be in order many times this season for your beloved side.

Ain’t it the truth, Bob. If it wasn’t for Gretna, I’d be very worried about relegation this season, but I think we’re (barely) a better side than them, despite the point they took out of Hearts back before Hearts found their rhythm. Still, eleventh place never looked so sweet as it does after this start … an absolute nightmare.
