The lengths people will go to avoid Archie Macpherson…

Comfort, o comfort ye Hoops and Hoopettes. We haven’t forgotten about you in the last week. We’ve just been keeping an eye on bigger business. Which is actually kind of fitting today.
Indeed, we’ve paid better attention to your needs than your football team, who most certainly have an eye on a cash bonanza. Naturally expecting a full-house next month for the home tie with AC Milan, Celtic chiefs are taking into consideration the poverty of the average football fan at this time of year…by charging record-breaking prices!
The club’s very own prawn sandwich brigade, The Executive Club, have been asked to stump up £85 to witness the visit of the Nerazzurri first-hand. Now, for a crowd who don’t get much change from £2,000 for their season ticket (they get free pies, y’see), that’s quite a lot to ask. More insultingly, it’s a whole £55 more than anyone was charged to see the Hoops at the Uefa Cup Final in Seville four years ago.
Standard prices haven’t been released yet but if the exec briefs are anything to go by, expect to see the first £50 tickets to go to a Scottish club game. Woof!
