The Top Flight Tussle

By: Craig | October 27th, 2006

010002292227100-1.jpgThe weekend’s big match could conceivably involve four clubs.

On the face of it, Dundee Utd’s visit to Falkirk is little more than a lower-table scrap, but with The Demon Grocer rapidly losing patience, Craig Brewster needs a win or it looks like game over for the prodigal son.

Since yesterday morning’s initial euphoria over Craig Levein’s expected move from Raith Rovers, an eerie silence has emanated from East End Park and the message boards are abuzz with speculation that he’s hedging his bets, waiting to see how things pan out at The Falkirk Stadium before making a decision.

Boardroom politics aside, the neutral’s interest lies in the expected debut first-team start for David Goodwillie - the next Wayne Rooney, apparently - and a grim scenario for whichever team loses.
