Two-hit wonder

By: Craig | November 29th, 2006

vanilla.jpgHe’s hardly the first. Great artists as varied as JD Salinger, The Las and, er, Vanilla Ice were his forebears. All it takes is one moment of inspiration and you’ll never escape the shadow of the one hit that just won’t go away, no matter how many Franny and Zooies (or Roll ‘Em Ups) you knock off.

But Motherwell’s Scott McDonald’s finally had enough. He just won’t take it any longer. That’s it. Finito. He’s had it up to his eyeballs of being reminded on a daily basis of probably the two most dramatic goals in Scottish league history. Of course, the fact that he’s a Celtic fan is insignificant…

So he’s now living in the vain hope that by netting SPL goal number 5000 people will finally recognise another, more meaningful episode in his career. So what’s it to be? Numerical landmarks or strikes that change the course of trophy-carrying helicopters, thus turning Glasgow City Centre into a warzone?

Yeah, thought so too. Nice try, Scotty.
