Unlikely scenarios #753

Still difficult what to make of the Bazza situation so far. With his agent flying in from Dubai for crisis talks today, there appears to be more than an element of brinkmanship involved. Why meet with the chairman (that’s Sir David Murray to you, m’boy) when he doesn’t want to play any more?
Perhaps more likely, with Sir David still showing no signs of giving Le Guen le guillotine, is a move away from Ibrox, which presents, once again, the heart-wrenching scenario of young Bazza having to (whisper it) live outside of Glasgow. The Rangers captain and his family moved home from Blackburn after just 18 months two years ago, attributing “homesickness” as the cause. Blackburn, let me remind you, is three hours south at a stretch.
So, let’s assume he wants to play football at the highest level, that he wants to make a lasting impact on Europe and that, most of all, he wants to remain in Glasgow. Do you see what I’m getting at here? Why, I never thought I’d say the words! Barry Ferguson: Celtic or bust?
Methinks not. Now at the peak of his footballing powers, there’s no better time for him to get over his Anglophobia and prove the southern doubters wrong.
